Application Dates & Deadlines
Freshmen (or first-year) students can apply for summer, fall, or spring admission. You are encouraged to apply as early as possible since admission is competitive and decisions are made on a space-available basis.
Application Dates & Deadlines

- Fall & Summer 2010
- Early Notification (non-binding): December 1, 2009
- Application Deadline: January 15, 2010
There are two admission notification periods for fall and summer 2010 candidates:
- Freshman Application Deadline - Fall & Summer
The freshman application deadline is January 15, 2010. Students may begin applying and completing their files in September through their MyCUBoulder account. Admission decisions will be released between December 2, 2009 and April 1, 2010. All applicants with completed files by January 15, 2010 will be notified of their admission decision no later than April 1, 2010.
- Early Notification (non-binding) - Fall & Summer
Freshman applicants who complete their file by December 1, 2009 are guaranteed early notification and will receive an admission decision on or before January 15, 2010. Students meeting the non-binding, early notification deadline may be admitted, postponed, or denied admission. Postponed students will receive an additional review and are strongly encouraged to submit additional academic information to strengthen their applications. Students who are postponed do not typically receive an admission decision until April 1, 2010.
There is one admission notification period for spring 2010 candidates:
- Freshman Application Deadline - Spring
The freshman application deadline is October 1, 2009. Students applying for spring must have a high school graduation date prior to the start of spring 2010 classes beginning. Students may begin applying and completing their files in August online. Admission decisions will be released beginning in October.
Documents & File Completion
All documents must be postmarked by the deadline, including the online application, tests scores, transcripts, essays, and any other supplemental materials. ONLY after ALL documents and test scores are received can your application be reviewed. Find out what is needed to complete your file. Go >
Checking Status of Your Application
You can check the status of your application status on the apply tab on your MyCUBoulder account. Please keep in mind it can take up to 14 days from the day the Office of Admissions receives your documents until they appear as "received."
Confirmation Deadlines
- Fall 2010 Candidates
Regardless of the date of admission, admitted students who wish to enroll at CU-Boulder must confirm their intent to enroll by May 1, 2010 through their MyCUBoulder account.
- Spring 2010 Candidates
Admitted students who wish to enroll at CU-Boulder must confirm their intent to enroll by December 15, 2009 or by the date printed on their confirmation form. The form and $200 deposit must be mailed to the Office of Admissions.
- Summer 2010 Candidates
Admitted students who wish to enroll at CU-Boulder must confirm their intent to enroll by May 1, 2010. The form and $200 deposit must be mailed to the Office of Admissions.
